Play Summer Games II Online

Pick a country, mash keys until your fingers hurt, and somehow feel like an Olympic champ—even when your diver belly-flops or your sprinter trips. That blimp drifting by while you wrestle with keyboard controls? Pure nostalgia.

Game Overview

Summer Games II came out in 1986 for MS-DOS, published by U.S. Gold Ltd. It was part of that wave of early PC sports games where the graphics were simple, the controls were unforgiving, and the fun came from competing against friends or just your own best times. You didn't need a fancy setup; a keyboard and some patience were enough to get started.

You control an athlete from a chosen country across eight different Olympic events, including diving, cycling, and the triple jump. The main objective is to earn medals by performing well in each event, either alone or against other players. Signature mechanics involve rapid, timed key presses for actions like building speed in a sprint or timing a dive's rotation, combined with simple directional inputs for events like archery or skeet shooting. The pacing is quick, with each event lasting only a few minutes, but the difficulty is high thanks to precise timing demands and occasionally clunky controls. It feels like a genuine, if sometimes frustrating, test of coordination and rhythm.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
