Play The Flintstones on Snes Online

Fred swings his club like a caveman swatting bugs, chucking bowling balls when things get desperate—just don’t expect them to last. The levels start normal at the quarry, then spiral into weird villain fights and rescue missions that feel like a Saturday morning cartoon gone sideways.

Game Overview

If you remember the goofy live-action Flintstones movie from the '90s, this SNES game is loosely based on that—though honestly, it feels more like a weird, alternate-universe version. You play as Fred, lumbering through side-scrolling levels that start at the quarry and get progressively weirder (rescue missions, evil villains named Cliff Vandercave—classic).

What’s funny is how they handled combat. Instead of jumping on enemies like most platformers, Fred swings a club like he’s swatting flies. You also get a handful of bowling balls and rocks to chuck, but good luck conserving those—I always ran out at the worst moments. The levels are totally different from the Game Boy version, too, so even if you’ve played that one, this feels fresh in a janky, nostalgic way.

It’s not the deepest SNES game out there, but there’s something charming about how committed it is to being aggressively Flintstones. You’ll either love it or wonder why Fred moves like he’s stuck in molasses.
