Play The Simpsons: Barts House of Weirdness Online

Bart sneaks out of his room into this janky, surreal platformer—tagging ghosts with spray paint, dodging living mannequins, and rescuing Krusty for reasons the game never bothers to explain. That basement blob level still haunts me.

Game Overview

I remember playing The Simpsons: Bart's House of Weirdness back in the day. It came out in 1991 for MS-DOS, published by Konami, Inc. It was one of those early PC platformers that felt a little rough around the edges, but it had a weird charm that stuck with you. The game was part of a wave of Simpsons titles trying to capture the show's humor in pixel form, and this one definitely went for a strange, almost dreamlike vibe.

You control Bart Simpson as he explores his own house, which has been twisted into a bizarre maze of rooms and hazards. The main goal is to rescue Krusty the Clown, who has been kidnapped for reasons the game never really explains. You move screen by screen, avoiding enemies like living mannequins and ghosts, and you use spray paint to defeat some of them. The pacing is slow and deliberate, with a lot of backtracking and trial and error. It feels clunky and unpredictable, but there's something oddly compelling about navigating its surreal, sometimes frustrating levels.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
