Game Overview

The Terminator: SkyNET is a tactical first-person shooter for MS-DOS, serving as both a prequel and evolution of its predecessor, Future Shock. Set across seven dynamic missions, the single-player campaign tasks you with thwarting Skynet’s plan to launch a recovered nuclear weapon. Missions span diverse, interactive environments—from the depths of Cyberdyne’s basement to a flooding submarine—with time progressing from night to day as the story unfolds. While retaining Future Shock’s driving and flying segments, SkyNET introduces full-motion video (FMV) briefings and scales back technology to fit its prequel narrative.

The game also features robust multiplayer support for up to eight players via LAN or two over IPX. Maps are condensed versions of single-player locales, like urban blocks or fractured highways, with day/night variants. Vehicles can be freely used, and players can opt to control a Terminator, complete with slowed movement, enhanced durability, and the iconic red HUD. Balancing tactical combat with immersive set-pieces, SkyNET stands out as a deeper, more polished chapter in this early FPS series.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
