Game Overview

XS: Shield Up, Fight Back came out in 1996 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by SCi Games Ltd. It was a time when action games were experimenting with faster, more aggressive combat, and this one fit right into that trend without trying to be more than it was.

You control a lone fighter navigating through tight, screen by screen levels filled with hostile robots. Your main goal is to survive each encounter, using a sword for close attacks and a shield to block or deflect incoming fire. The combat relies heavily on timing; mistime a block and you take damage, but a well executed parry can create an opening for a counter strike. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty can feel punishing if you rush in carelessly. It feels tense and deliberate, demanding your full attention at every moment.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
