Play Yogi Bears Math Adventures Online

Yogi Bear chucks rocks at trees with the right math answers—awkward bear physics and a ticking clock turn basic arithmetic into weirdly tense target practice. Those crunchy '90s sound effects and janky aiming make it oddly satisfying.

Game Overview

I first played Yogi Bear's Math Adventures back in the early 90s on our family's clunky MS-DOS machine. It was published by Hi-Tech Expressions, one of those companies that made a lot of educational software for kids. The game fit right in with the era, using a familiar cartoon license to try and make learning math a little less painful.

You control Yogi Bear, moving him left and right at the bottom of the screen. Your main job is to protect the picnic baskets from a swarm of bees by solving math problems. You don't have a weapon; instead, you throw rocks at trees marked with numbers. You have to hit the tree whose number correctly answers the equation shown at the top of the screen. The pacing is frantic, with a timer counting down and bees constantly descending. It feels like a strange, stressful arcade game where your ammo is arithmetic. Getting a correct answer and watching the bees get zapped provides a genuine little rush of success.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
