Game Overview

Zone One is one of those MS-DOS games that somehow slipped under the radar back in the day, which is a shame because it’s an absolute riot. You drop into this neon-soaked grid, and within seconds, robots are swarming you from every direction. It’s like someone took the best parts of Robotron and cranked the speed up a notch—no story, no fluff, just you, a tiny hitbox, and an endless stream of things to shoot.

The controls are razor-sharp, which is good because you’ll need every pixel of movement to weave between bullets. Power-ups pop up just often enough to give you hope before the game laughs and throws another impossible wave at you. I lost more than a few runs to greed—going for that extra pickup instead of playing it safe. Classic mistake.

It’s got that perfect arcade feel where failure is always your fault, and every death makes you mutter, "Okay, one more try." If you’ve got a soft spot for ’90s shooters that don’t hold your hand, this one’s a time capsule worth cracking open.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
