Game Overview

Alien Attack is one of those games that came bundled on a "0 MS-DOS Classic Games" collection disc, a nameless shareware title from an era when developers often released their work directly to bulletin board systems. It lacks a famous publisher, fitting the model of countless small projects from the early 90s that were distributed on floppies and later compiled onto CD-ROMs. The game presents a straightforward premise, a common trope for the platform, where you are the last line of defense against an overwhelming extraterrestrial invasion.

You control a small, blocky spaceship confined to the bottom of the screen, moving it left and right to avoid descending formations of alien sprites. Your main objective is to survive wave after wave of attackers, destroying them with a limited laser cannon before they reach your position or overrun you with numbers. The signature mechanics involve precise dodging in the limited horizontal space, timing your shots during brief pauses in the alien advance, and occasionally facing a larger, more complex enemy ship that serves as a mini-boss. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty escalates quickly, demanding sharp reflexes and memorization of attack patterns. It feels like a tense, claustrophobic battle against an inevitable tide.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
