Play Army Online

You stare at a grid map, shuffling pixel squads around while that chunky MIDI music makes every "MOVE TANKS NORTH" command feel like a life-or-death decision. One wrong move and—boom—your entire platoon's gone.

Game Overview

Army was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, though I don't recall the developer offhand. It was one of those straightforward strategy titles from the era, the kind you'd load up after school when you wanted something that made you think without drowning you in menus or fancy graphics.

You command a small military force, moving individual units like tanks and infantry across a grid-based map. Your main goal is to eliminate all enemy units or capture their base, depending on the scenario. The game plays out turn by turn; you plot your moves, then watch as the enemy responds, often with punishing efficiency. The pacing is deliberate, almost slow, but the tension is constant because a single misstep can lead to a total wipeout. It feels like a careful, nerve-wracking chess match where every piece matters.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
