If you loved the Cars movie, this DS game is basically a pocket-sized Radiator Springs adventure. You pick Lightning McQueen, Mater, or one of the others and race through tracks that look straight out of the film—dirt roads, desert highways, even some sneaky shortcuts if you know where to look.

At first, I just mashed the accelerator, but you actually need to drift around turns like in the movie to keep your speed up. The customization’s simple—swap paint jobs or tweak your ride’s stats—but it’s fun seeing your favorite car with a fresh look. The AI isn’t brutal, so it’s great for younger players, though some later races had me retrying a few times.

It’s not the deepest racer, but the charm’s all there: the characters chatter during races, and the music nails that small-town racing vibe. If you’ve got a DS and a soft spot for Pixar’s world, this one’s a solid little time-killer.
