Double Dragon 4 feels like someone dug up an old NES cartridge from 1992 and polished it just enough to run on modern hardware. The pixel art is sharp, but the animations are stiff—Billy and Jimmy still move like they're wading through molasses.

You'll recognize the same old punch-kick combos, but the enemy AI is either brain-dead or frustratingly cheap. Sometimes they just stand there, other times they stunlock you into a corner. The new stages try to mix things up with hazards, but mostly it's the same walk-right-and-punch routine.
