Dragon History came out in 1995 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a release from NoSense that bundled a few of their titles. It was a time when these kinds of top-down fantasy adventures were common, and it fit right in with the expectations of the platform, offering a straightforward, no-frills experience without a lot of the graphical ambition some other studios were chasing.

You control a hero, choosing from a few classic archetypes like a warrior or a mage, and your goal is to explore a large world, clear dungeons, and ultimately defeat a powerful dragon. The gameplay involves screen-by-screen exploration, real-time combat with a simple sword swing or magic cast, and collecting key items to progress. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty can be punishing; a wrong turn or a tough enemy encounter can set you back significantly. It feels like a focused, sometimes brutal test of your patience and route-planning skills.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
