Game Overview

Dragon Saber is one of those arcade gems that makes you wish you had a pocket full of quarters again. You start off with this tiny sword—honestly, it looks more like a toothpick against the first dragon—but after a few power-ups, you're slinging fireballs and dodging attacks like a pro. The pixel art holds up surprisingly well, especially when you trigger a screen-clearing spell and everything explodes in bright, chunky colors.

The controls are simple (just attack and jump, really), but the timing matters—mistime a swing against those floating eyeball monsters, and you'll lose half your health bar. I kept getting wrecked by the third boss until I realized you could bait its fire breath and dash underneath. Classic arcade difficulty, but in a way that makes you want to try again immediately.

If you miss the days when games didn't hold your hand and just threw dragons at you, this is worth booting up.
