Play Kings Table - The Legend of Ragnarok Online

Vikings duke it out on a chessboard—Odin charges straight in, Loki slinks around the edges, and one bad dice roll can wreck your whole battle plan. That chunky pixel art and synth soundtrack still slap.

Game Overview

Kings Table: The Legend of Ragnarok came out in 1993 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by Mindscape. It was one of those strategy titles that felt right at home in an era when turn-based games were still finding their footing on PC. You don't see many games like this anymore, where the focus is purely on tactical positioning and a little bit of luck.

You control a set of Viking warriors, each with unique movement and attack styles, on a grid-based board. The goal is to capture your opponent's king piece while defending your own. Combat is resolved through dice rolls, which adds an element of unpredictability to every encounter. The game moves at a deliberate pace, and the difficulty can spike sharply if you make careless advances. It feels tense and thoughtful, like a proper board game brought to life on screen.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
