Game Overview

Kung Fu Superkicks is one of those weird little Atari 2600 games that somehow makes two-button kung fu feel intense. You're just this tiny blocky dude side-scrolling through waves of even blockier enemies, punching and kicking your way forward. The controls are dead simple—one button for punches, another for kicks—but the timing actually matters, which surprised me. Miss a beat, and you'll eat a flying knee to the face.

It's definitely rough around the edges (this is the 2600 we're talking about), but there's something charming about how it tries to cram arcade-style brawling into that old hardware. The PAL-exclusive release makes it a neat oddity for collectors, especially since Telegames had a habit of putting out unconventional stuff. Not exactly Street Fighter, but weirdly satisfying once you get into its rhythm.
