The Wily Wars came out for the Sega Genesis in 1994, developed and published by Capcom. It was a time when 16-bit consoles were in full swing, and this compilation offered a chance to revisit the first three NES Mega Man games with a visual overhaul and some new content.

You control Mega Man through a series of side scrolling stages, defeating Robot Masters and absorbing their weapons. The main goal is to stop Dr. Wily by clearing stages, choosing your order, and using boss weapons against their weaknesses. Signature mechanics include the ability to save your progress (a welcome change from passwords) and the new Wily Tower mode that remixes challenges from all three games. The pacing is methodical, and the difficulty remains high, demanding precise jumps and smart weapon selection. It feels like a competent, if not always inspired, repackaging of classic action.
