Game Overview

Ever played one of those old-school war shooters where you just run in guns blazing? Sgt. Saunders' Combat! isn’t like that. You actually have to think—dodging behind cover, timing your shots, and praying you don’t get blown to bits by artillery. The pixelated explosions and chunky sprites might look simple, but the tension’s real. One wrong move, and it’s game over.

It’s got that same chaotic energy as Guerilla War, but with more weight to the combat. The controls are surprisingly smooth for an SNES game, and the missions throw you into these tight, almost claustrophobic battlefields where every bullet counts. Not gonna lie, the first time I played, I got wrecked in like two minutes—turns out charging in like Rambo doesn’t work here.

If you dig retro shooters with a bit of strategy, this one’s worth digging up. Just don’t expect a walk in the park.
