Game Overview

Skunny - Back to the Forest is one of those early '90s DOS platformers that feels like a weird, charming time capsule. You play as Skunny, a squirrel who comes back from vacation to find his friends kidnapped by King Toad (because of course it's a toad). The controls are simple—just running and jumping—but the levels get surprisingly tricky, with these little health nuts hidden in annoying spots that make you backtrack.

What I remember most is the janky but endearing sprite work—Skunny’s got this weird little hop animation, and the enemies are these goofy frogs and bugs. The music’s got that classic MIDI chirpiness too. It’s not the deepest game, but there’s something oddly satisfying about hunting down every last nut before taking on the final boss. If you’ve got a soft spot for old shareware platformers, this one’s worth a look.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
