Play Speed Racer in My Most Dangerous Adventures Online

Sliding the Mach 5 around hairpin turns feels sketchy at first until you nail the drift, then you're weaving through traffic like it's nothing. Between races, you're jumping out to punch thugs in some surprisingly decent street brawls—just don't forget to grab those health pickups.

Game Overview

Speed Racer in My Most Dangerous Adventures came out for the Super Nintendo in 1994, published by Accolade. It was part of that wave of licensed games trying to capture the feel of a show, in this case the classic Speed Racer anime. The SNES had plenty of racers by then, but this one tried to mix things up by not just being about the track.

You control Speed Racer, mostly from a behind-the-car view during races, but the game shifts to a side-scrolling perspective for the on-foot brawling sections. The main goal is to win races and beat up enemy gang members who are causing trouble. Key mechanics include using the Mach 5's special gadgets, like the jacks that pop out from the front to hop over obstacles, and engaging in simple punch-and-kick combat against enemies in the platforming stages. The difficulty can spike unexpectedly, especially when navigating tight tracks or dealing with groups of foes. It feels a little rough around the edges, but there's a certain charm in switching between high-speed driving and throwing fists.
