Play The Adventures of Maddog Williams in the Dungeons of Duridian Online

You type commands to solve goofy puzzles like bribing a guard with a fish, then suddenly you're in a janky swordfight where timing your swings actually matters. Classic Sierra vibes with weird little surprises.

Game Overview

The Adventures of Maddog Williams in the Dungeons of Duridian came out in 1991 under the MS-DOS Classic Games label, developed by Game Crafters. It was one of those early PC dungeon crawlers that relied on keyboard commands and a vivid imagination, fitting right in with the text parser adventures and tile based exploration games of the time.

You control Maddog Williams, a down on his luck adventurer trying to reclaim his stolen fortune from the depths of Duridian. Movement is screen by screen; you type actions like "take key" or "open chest," and combat involves timing your sword swings against skeletons and goblins. The pacing is deliberate, sometimes slow, with puzzles that can stump you (like figuring out which guard to bribe and with what). It feels like a mix of careful planning and sudden, clunky action, all wrapped in that particular 1990s DOS charm.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
