The Return of Medusa: Rings of Medusa II came out in 1991, developed by Starbyte Software for MS-DOS. It was part of that wave of European action-adventures that leaned into exploration and puzzle solving, typical for the platform at the time.
You control a lone hero navigating a world turned to stone, moving screen by screen through dungeons and wilderness. Your main goal is to gather the scattered rings of Medusa to break her curse. You fight monsters with a sword or bow, hunt for keys to locked areas, and solve environmental puzzles that often require careful observation. The pacing is deliberate, and some puzzles can be quite obscure, demanding patience. It feels like slowly untangling a knot, where every small discovery adds a little more light to a shadowy world.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
