Game Overview

Man, Castlevania on the GBA takes me back. It’s the same brutal, gothic side-scroller from the NES days—just crammed into your pocket this time. You’re whipping candles for hearts, dodging Medusa heads that swoop in at the worst possible moment, and praying you don’t get knocked into a pit by some random skeleton. The controls feel stiff at first (it’s an old game, after all), but once you get the rhythm down, cracking that vampire whip at Frankenstein’s monster or Death himself is stupidly satisfying.

Fair warning: the difficulty hasn’t aged gracefully. You’ll die. A lot. But there’s something weirdly addictive about memorizing enemy patterns and finally nailing that jump over the axe knights. If you’ve got nostalgia for pixel-perfect platforming and chiptune organ music, this one’s still a blast.
