Game Overview

Command H.Q. came out in 1990 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by Microplay Software. It was a strategy title from a time when real-time war games were still finding their footing on home computers, offering a mix of tactical depth and accessible controls that stood out among its peers.

You command all aspects of a modern military force, directing units like tanks, planes, and submarines across a strategic map viewed from above. The main goal is to capture enemy headquarters while defending your own, managing resources and production in real time. Key mechanics include deploying radar to reveal fog of war, coordinating combined arms assaults, and racing to research advanced technologies before your opponent. The pace is relentless, with the AI applying constant pressure that demands quick decisions and adaptability. Playing it feels like conducting a high-stakes orchestra of destruction where every second counts.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
