Game Overview

Demon Attack is one of those Atari 2600 games that looks simple until you actually play it. You’re stuck at the bottom of the screen with this little laser cannon, and these weird, jagged demons start swooping down at you in these unpredictable zig-zags. At first, you think you’ve got the hang of it—until they start splitting into smaller, faster demons after you shoot them.

The colors are surprisingly vibrant for an Atari game—these demons glow in purples, greens, and blues as they dive-bomb you or lob shots from above. And just when you clear a wave, the next one gets meaner, with demons that move in totally different patterns. It’s the kind of game where you’ll lean forward without realizing it, gripping the joystick a little too hard.

Honestly, it’s way more intense than it has any right to be.
