Dragon Ball Z: Attack of the Saiyans is one of those rare DS RPGs that actually makes turn-based combat feel fast and flashy—just like the anime. You start off as Goku, throwing punches and energy blasts in fights that look straight out of the show, complete with little cut-ins for special moves. The battles are simple at first, but once you start chaining attacks with your team, it gets surprisingly tactical.

It follows the early DBZ arcs (Raditz to Vegeta), so expect plenty of dramatic showdowns and power-ups. The sprite work is great for a DS game, and the soundtrack nails that classic DBZ intensity. My only gripe? It’s way shorter than most RPGs—you’ll blast through it in 15 hours if you’re not grinding. Still, it’s a solid pick for fans who want a DBZ game that actually plays like an RPG instead of a fighting game.
