Dragon's Lair on the Amiga—yeah, the one from Disk8—is basically a pixelated time machine back to when arcade games ruled. You control Dirk the Daring, this clunky but lovable knight trying to rescue a princess from a dragon’s lair (shocking, I know). The animation’s choppy by today’s standards, but there’s something weirdly charming about how it stutters through each scene like an overenthusiastic flipbook.

Gameplay’s all about timing. You don’t really "move" Dirk so much as nudge him in the right direction before a trap turns him into toast. Miss a button prompt? Enjoy the hilariously dramatic death animations. It’s frustrating at first, but once you get the rhythm, it feels like solving a weird, interactive puzzle. Just don’t throw your joystick.

If you’ve got nostalgia for early '90s Amiga games or just want to see where quick-time events started, this is a fun little relic. The dragon still looks cool, at least.
