Game Overview

Final Fantasy on NES is where it all started—the one that kicked off this massive series. It's a bit rough around the edges compared to later games, but there's something charming about the simplicity. You pick four characters from six classes (I always end up with a fighter, thief, white mage, and black mage—classic combo), then wander the overworld getting into turn-based fights with weird little sprites. The music still slaps, especially that victory fanfare.

This version's a hack called "Quadruple Dragons" by Kabucho, which tweaks some stuff—stronger enemies, better rewards, that kind of thing. If you've played the original to death, it gives you a reason to dive back in. Just don't expect fancy cutscenes or deep character arcs; it's pure old-school JRPG vibes, where half the fun is imagining the story between those blocky text boxes.
