Rush'n Attack came out in 1985 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, originally developed by Konami. It was a straightforward action game for its time, fitting right in with the kind of direct, challenging experiences common on home computers back then.
You control a lone soldier infiltrating enemy territory, armed primarily with a combat knife. Your main goal is to fight through each side-scrolling screen, avoiding or eliminating guards to reach and rescue prisoners of war. Key mechanics include precise knife throwing for ranged attacks, close-quarters slashing, and careful platform navigation. The game moves quickly and punishes mistakes harshly, often sending you back to the beginning after a few hits. It feels tense and demanding, requiring sharp reflexes and a steady hand to push forward.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
