Super Castlevania 2 (V0.7) (Hack) is a reworked version of the NES classic, but don't expect a simple reskin. The stages twist in ways you don't remember—familiar corridors lead to dead ends, and enemies lurk where they shouldn't. It's still Castlevania at its core, just messing with your muscle memory.

The difficulty spikes hard in places, especially with some of the new enemy placements. You'll whip a skeleton only for two more to drop from off-screen. The graphics tweaks are subtle but noticeable—darker backgrounds, some palette swaps that make the world feel just slightly off.

If you've played the original to death, this hack at least keeps you guessing. But it's rough in spots, like some hitboxes feel jankier than they should be. Still, there's something satisfying about relearning a game you thought you knew.
