Play Super Castlevania IV Online

Simon Belmont cracks his whip in eight directions this time—swinging over pits, swatting bats mid-air, and blocking fireballs while Dracula's castle creaks with new traps and familiar ghosts. The SNES makes every chain-rattle and candle-smash feel weighty.

Game Overview

Super Castlevania IV is one of those SNES games that just feels right the moment you start playing. You’re Simon Belmont, swinging your whip through eerie forests and crumbling castles on your way to take down Dracula—again. But don’t let the familiar story fool you; the levels are completely redesigned, and the first five stages leading up to the castle are new, full of traps, ghosts, and those annoying Medusa heads that swoop at you.

The whip is the real star here. You can attack in eight directions, which is a game-changer—no more awkwardly jumping to hit enemies below you. You can even hold it out to block projectiles or latch onto hooks to swing over gaps. And yeah, you’ll still find hearts for sub-weapons like axes and holy water, but the whip does most of the heavy lifting.

Visually, it’s a showcase for the SNES. The backgrounds scroll with this smooth parallax effect, some rooms spin around you, and there’s even this one hallway that twists into 3D just to mess with you. Oh, and passwords save your progress—because nothing says '90s like scribbling down a string of letters after barely surviving a boss fight.

It’s classic Castlevania, just with smoother controls and way more style.
