Game Overview

Worms came out in 1995 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by Team17. It was one of those games that felt perfectly at home on a PC, a clever little distraction you could run between more serious applications. It didn't try to push hardware limits with 3D graphics; it was all about the gameplay, a simple concept executed with a lot of personality.

You control a team of cartoony worms, taking turns with another player or the AI to eliminate the opposing team. The main objective is to be the last worm standing, using an arsenal of ridiculous weapons like bazookas, exploding sheep, and the infamous Holy Hand Grenade. The terrain is fully destructible, so every shot carves new craters and can bury your enemies or expose them. The pacing is slow and thoughtful, a game of angles and trajectories where a single miscalculation can send your own worm flying into the water. It feels like playing a very silly, very violent game of chess where the pieces insult each other.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
