Admirals Command was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a title from the early 1990s that put you in charge of naval strategy without much fanfare. It was developed by a smaller studio whose name escapes me now, but it fit right in with the era's focus on thoughtful, turn-based games that demanded your full attention.

You control a fleet of ships, moving them across a grid-based map to seek out and destroy the enemy's forces. The main objective is to outmaneuver your opponent through careful positioning and anticipating their moves. Key mechanics include plotting your ships' courses turn by turn, managing limited fuel and ammunition, and using sonar to detect hidden submarines. The pacing is deliberate, almost slow, but the difficulty comes from the constant risk of a misstep costing you a valuable vessel. Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
