Game Overview

Doctor Who: Daleka Attack came out in 1992 for MS-DOS, developed by Sumo Digital Ltd. It was one of those early platformers that felt right at home on a PC, with chunky sprites and a simple, direct approach to action that didn't try to overcomplicate things. You knew what you were getting into just by looking at it; it was a straightforward adaptation of the show for the keyboard and monitor era.

You control either the Doctor or Sarah Jane, moving screen by screen through a series of levels, each filled with Daleks and other hazards. Your main objective is to reach the exit in each stage, avoiding enemy fire and navigating tricky jumps. The sonic screwdriver serves as your weapon, letting you stun or destroy Daleks with a well-aimed shot, though timing and positioning are everything. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty can feel unforgiving, especially with the somewhat floaty controls that take some getting used to. It feels like a tense, quick battle for survival where every mistake costs you.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
