Game Overview

Final Fantasy III on the DS is one of those RPGs that feels classic but still holds up surprisingly well. You start off as this random kid who stumbles into a cave and—boom—suddenly you're the chosen one dealing with floating continents, dark prophecies, and a bunch of crystals that everyone seems obsessed with. The job system is where it really shines—you can switch between black mages, dragoons, or even something weird like a geomancer whenever you feel like mixing things up.

Battles are turn-based but snappy, and the 3D remake gives the world this nice chunky charm. Some of the dungeons drag a little (looking at you, Crystal Tower), but the music and weird little character animations make up for it. If you’ve ever wanted to throw a Viking at a dragon or heal your way through an apocalypse, this is your game.
