Game Overview

Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls is basically a polished-up version of the classics, but with some nice extras. The graphics got a glow-up, the menus are less clunky, and there’s even a new dungeon or two if you’re into that. I remember starting FF1 and thinking, "Wow, this actually feels smoother than the NES original"—no more endless button-mashing just to buy potions.

FF2’s weird leveling system is still here (you improve skills by using them, which is either brilliant or annoying, depending on who you ask). But they tweaked it so it’s not quite as punishing. And yeah, you get both games in one package, which is great if you want that old-school JRPG fix without digging out your dusty NES. Just don’t expect voice acting or flashy cutscenes—it’s still pure, turn-based nostalgia.
